Avanos has thrown red clay from the Kızılırmak river for about four thousand years. These 5 workshops put you at the wheel rather than behind a rope, and they differ on how long you get and whether your pot is fired and posted on.
At a family-run workshop in Avanos, Davut, Hasan, or Mustafa guides you through the pottery wheel, shares local craft stories, and helps you shape a cup, bowl, vase, or another small piece. The 45-minute visit includes tea or coffee, photos, and a handmade keepsake.
